INTECH summed the results of the operations of its logistics department for 2024

In 2024, the annual gross revenue of INTECH’s logistics business increased by 79%. The growth was due to a 28% increase in transportation volumes and a 64% increase in rental rates. During the year, the logistics team ensured the transportation of 1.25 million tons of cargo, of which 94% was by rail.

“In 2024, an increased volume of export railway transportation was recorded in Ukraine. Its share increased from 38% to 48% of the total transportation volume and reached 174.9 million tons. One of the positive trends was the revival of port infrastructure, which allowed us to evenly distribute cargo flows between western border crossings and the Odesa Railways. In turn, this promoted logistics optimization and reduced cargo delivery time,” says Dmytro Korostov, Director of Logistics at INTECH. “In 2024, INTECH invested UAH 12 million in its railway carriages. This year we plan to invest another UAH 16 million and continue development to meet the growing demand of Ukrainian businesses for reliable transportation.”

In 2024, the rental rate for railway carriages fluctuated significantly due to a shortage of rolling stock in the first half of the year, while the cost of repair work increased by approximately 20%. Despite the challenges, INTECH used more than 17,000 railway carriages, which is 27% more than in 2023. To promote transportation volumes during season-related periods, the number of railway carriages in operation was increased to 1,000 units. Plans for 2025 include an increase in the volume of railway carriage rentals, as well as continuing development of road transportation. The main cargoes transported were clay, smelter slag, and limestone.
